Its been ages the world switched on to LOCKDOWN mode and and we into self isolation – QUARANTINE MODE (current memes worthy trend). While the mankind was dealing with the PANDEMIC, I the newly married was dealing with my MAN.
The excitement of staying home and looking forward to ‘WE’ time (and of course being safe) was suddenly squashed when THE MAN uttered two golden words, “Ai Saiba” (Oh God! In our very own Konkani Dictionary). I thought the “Ai Saiba” was because of the lockdown and the unfortunate Pandemic, little did I know it was for me!!! That moment, I was confident that this isolation is going to be hell of a ride for both – ME AND THE MAN!!!
Men think the biggest trap they voluntarily let themselves into, is MARRIAGE. Hold on! Soon this thought became a reality where they were trapped in the house and for worse with the WIFE!! Sincere thanks to the very famous ISOLATION!
With the Pandemic outside and us inside, the journey began. (and continuing…) With the never seen sunny weather in the Kingdom (Astonished with the London weather – not kidding, a hailstorm hit while writing this blog – so unpredictable!!! ) chirpy sounds of the birds outside the window – a constant reminder of us being trapped woke us every noon (yes, you read that right.)
Being romantic, a die hard fan of rom-coms, almost forgot THE MAN I was isolating with is an anti romantic. (No chance now, I signed up for it).
Every beautiful relationship hits rocks. PUBG – sauth (my virtual mistress) Thank you for contributing in traumatizing my ‘WE’ time. While PUBG decided to dethrone me, I started looking for peace on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Speaking about Peace – it was disturbed by a vibrant alarming sound – universally known as SNORINGGG!!!! I adjusted to his constant snoring throughout the night only to attack him in the morning.
But smart men still exist. MY MAN’s smartness is way beyond in the kitchen. Unknowingly he will brush up every single angry emotion I experienced during night by serving me the best self cooked food possible. And yes, I do get weight gain as a complimentary gift.
Every cloud has a silver lining. This isolation is a testimony to it. We got an occasion to explore our marriage and developed trust, respect, mutual admiration and a promise of LIFE TOGETHER.
